Funeral Services for Johnny Frank Ellis, age 67, of Centerville, TX will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 6. 2014 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will be held Tuesday 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Centerville Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Johnny Ellis was born in Centerville, TX on December 7, 1946 to John F. and Mayme P. Bell Ellis. Johnny graduated from Centerville High School and attended Sam Houston State University . Johnny started working at AMOCO Oil Company (which later became BP) at the Texas City Refinery in 1978. After his retirement from BP in 2000, he continued to work another 10 years at the BP Refinery as a contractor. He retired in 2011 with his final job as contractor for BP being the Deep Water Horizon oil spill in Fort Fourchon, LA. Johnnie loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He moved back to Centerville, his hometown, several years ago. Johnny served our country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his father, his sister Sandra and a brother Jim. Johnny died Thursday July 31, 2014 in Centerville. Survivors include his wife Diana of Centerville, his mother Mayme Ellis Brown of Centerville, two daughters Shelley Hewitt of Hartsville, South Carolina, and Terri Rojas of Friendswood, Texas and a sister Deneau Duck of Centervile. He is also survived four grandchildren Madison Rojas, Austin Hewitt, Courtney Hewitt and Mikey Rojas. Pallbearers: Roy Carrigan, Jim Unger, Austin Hewitt, Michael Rojas, Noal Ray Goolsby, Wayne Hewitt and Bud Fergusion. Honorary pallbearers: Wayne Neyland, Larry Dorman, Mikey Rojas, Johnny Duck, Mike Major, James O. Hill, Ben Carrigan, Lance Brown, Jerry Bell, David Murphy, Charlie Lummus, Dolf Hopf, Jay Kittle and Ray Matthews.
