Samuel Raford Fowler, 84, passed away at his residence in Anderson, South Carolina.
Born in Fayette, Alabama, Mr. Fowler had previously lived in Palm City for 27 years before moving to Jensen Beach, and then Anderson, South Carolina for the past 3 ½ years.
He graduated from Auburn University with his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for Pratt Whitney. After retiring from Pratt, he then worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for 3 years.
Mr. Fowler was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of The Gideons International and enjoyed gardening.
While in Florida, Mr. Fowler was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 30 years, and upon moving to South Carolina, he joined The Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Anderson. He was a kind, loving Godly man and a true servant of the Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Anderson, SC; son, Mark of Orlando, FL; son, Patrick (Elizabeth) of Oviedo, FL; grandson, Gabriel of Oviedo, FL; brothers, Charles, David and William, all of Fayetteville, AL; brother, James of Mobile, AL and sister, Ruth Lindsey, of Fayetteville, AL.
Mr. Fowler was predeceased by his parents, Shannon and Avis.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from Noon to 2:00PM with a Funeral Service to begin at 2:00PM at Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart, FL.
Interment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart.
