Dual and Helen (Helen Lola Bryant) were married on July 15, 1942. Helen passed away from Alzheimer's on October 15, 1995. Their last 15 years together were challenging due to her illness. Nevertheless, Dual loved Helen with all his heart and always tried to remember the good times.

Dual and Helen moved to 11622 Grande Vista Drive in Whittier in 1975. This was their dream home with the view of downtown and also Catalina Island on a clear day. It is still a beautiful 360 view today. They loved living in Whittier because it was close to downtown LA, where Dual worked at Security Pacific Bank (in their skyscraper downtown) and they could also get down to the boat in Long Beach easily.

Dual loved the outdoors and music. He played the piano and the guitar. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, and he also loved the ocean and sailing. Dual and Helen had their sailboat at the Long Beach Marina for many years and were part of strong sailing community at that time.

Dual and Helen also loved to travel and spent many years, traveling around the US during their retirement years to visit family and friends. They traveled in their motor home and many of you may have fond memories of the time spent with them on those vacations. They would travel to favorite locations and then to visit family in between.

Dual golfed until he was 89 years old and was shooting an 89 as of that time. He thought that it would be an appropriate time to end his golf game, at 89 and 89. During a golf tournament in July 1993 at the Hacienda Golf Club, Dual won a trip to Hawaii and took one of his best friends Joe with him for a bachelor's Hawaiian adventure.

Dual closest friends were: Chuck, Ed, and Joe. They spent many nights around the campfire and on guys fishing trips. You may recall fond memories and stories that will remain with the family for years to come from the fishing trips and pit stops at Tom's Place.

He was a member of the Masons and Gold Prospectors Association of America.

Dual enlisted in the military on April 7, 1941 in Jacksonville AAF Florida. He was a proud WWII veteran and we are grateful for his service during those years to our nation and our Allies.

Dual will be Forever Loved and Forever Remembered by all who knew him. He will live on in our hearts and minds.
