She was born on Oct. 6, 1919, in Butler to the late Francesco Orlando and Ernestine (Pappalard) Orlando.
Mrs. Hartle worked as a waitress in the Butler area for 40 years. She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hartle is survived by her son, Dennis C. Hartle of Butler; her four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Hartle Sr., who passed away on May 29, 1969; her four brothers; and her four sisters.
Hartle- There will be no public visitation for Mary D. Hartle, who passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery.
The St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the church to recite the rosary.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Butler.
