Davis County Clipper Today, Bountiful, UT, Friday, Oct 3, 1997, pg 6:

"Alden John Kirkham "Sonny" passed away Saturday, September 27, 1997, at the age of 91. Born December 2, 1905, Lehi, Utah to James Mercer Kirkham and Kate Woodhouse, Alden was the sixth of nine children (an identical twin). He served an LDS mission to England and graduated from the University of Utah. He married Lola Palfreyman Staten in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two sons, Roland and Robert. After the death of his first wife, he married Clare Nelson.

"Alden was a school teacher for many years. He played six musical instruments, sang and performed with various musical groups. He loved fishing and creating new ways of doing things, always inventing new devices, and composing music and poetry. Alden was always willing to be of help and assistance to everyone in need. He spent many years doing records extraction, and until just recently at age 91 still spent six hours a day on the computer.

"Survivors include his son Robert (Margaret) Kirkham, Bountiful, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Alden was preceded in death by both wives, his son Roland, and six brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 2, 1997."
