Filley, Neb., Jan 5, - (Special) - Patrick Allen, and old resident of Gage county, died this morning shortly after four o'clock at his home for miles east of Filley after an illness of nearly two weeks of pneumonia. He had been ailing for nearly a month. but did not take to his bed until about a week ago, the day after the death of his son, Frank.
Mr. Allen was seventy-four years of age and had resided on the old homestead east of Filley for thirty-three years. He owned considerable land and was well fixed financially.
He is survived by a widow and six children, four sons and two daughters. They are Thomas, John, Barney and Edward Allen and Mrs. Celia Redden and Mary Holten both of Blue Hill, Neb.
The funeral will probably be held Friday afternoon from the Catholic church at Beatrice
Son of Richard "Dick" Allen and Margaret Sweeney, both of whom died in Ireland according to an ancestry family tree.
