Mrs. Frank Meine, 79, nee Vina Mae Tumlinson of Fredericksburg died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Beckmann Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Altman officiating. Nina Pruitt was the organist, and Dr. Rollie Blondeau, the vocalist.
Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Meine was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Hallettsville, the daughter of John M. Tumlinson and Lucile Autry Tumlinson. She married Frank F. Meine on June 27, 1941, in Houston and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2003.
She was a member of a number of organizations, including the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and a lifetime member and past president of the Fredericksburg Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
She was also a former administrator and Girl Scout leader, and an active member of the United Methodist Women, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Descendants of Austins Old 300.
Mrs. Meine was also a member of the Former Texas Rangers Association and through genealogical research learned that 17 family members were listed among the first Texas Rangers, one of which was the first Texas Ranger and the first Texas Ranger to die in the line of duty.
Survivors include two daughters and one son, Lucile Dilling of San Antonio, George Meine of Fredericksburg and Deborah Wilson of San Antonio.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two half-sisters, Dorothy Teague of Houston and Lillie Lee Pearson of Dale.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Meine was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
