Mr. Jerry Marcus Crews, 58, died unexpectedly Saturday morning (August 2, 2014) at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross.

He was born and lived most of his life in Ware County before moving to Blackshear. He was a Deputy for the Pierce County Sheriff's Office for 28 years and a member of the Sheriff's Association.

Mr. Crews was a son of the late Jesse "J.C." Crews and Carol Sue Crews Hewitt. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Debra Ann Bricker.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Debra Ann Bolt Crews of Blackshear; three children, Chantelle Knight (husband Justin) of Blackshear, Jessie Simpson Crews of Waycross, and Perry Hewitt Crews (wife Jennifer) of Blackshear; 10 grandchildren, Levi Crews, Aaron Crews, Ethan Crews, Patrick Crews, Gavin Crews, Marcus Crews, Nathan Crews, Natalie Crews, Henry Knight, and Carlton Crews; eight siblings, David Hendrix (wife Cathy) of Waycross, Georgeanne Lequire (husband David) of Alma, Ella Lahmann (husband Marcus) of Germany, Cindy Ritch of Tampa, Beth Hill of Blackshear, Susan Brady Whalan (husband Tracy) of Tampa, Dennis McMillan of Waynesville, and Michael McMillan of Waynesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (August 5, 2014) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Brantley County.
