Funeral services for Elizabeth Anne Ammar, 49, Torrance, CA were held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. She died May 10, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Gardena, CA.
Elizabeth was born on April 16, 1964 in Evanston, Illinois the daughter of Raymond George and Carroll (Ikerd) Ammar.
Elizabeth graduated from Lawrence High School in 1982 and received a degree in Biochemistry from University of Kansas in 1988. She was a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences at California State University, Long Beach as well as a tutor in math and science.
Survivors include her brother, David Ammar, Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert on October 6, 1992, her mother on December 22, 2004 and her father on June 22, 2009.
The family greeted friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Memorial contributions were made in her name to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
