ILLNESS FATAL TO CHARLES L. ASPLIN

Early Resident of Hendren Township Will be Buried Thursday,

Neillsville--Charles Lee AspUn, 54, died at bis home in the Town of Hendren at 12:30 a. m. Monday morning. The funeral will be held Thursday, Dec 23. at 2 p. m. at the Jaster Funeral Home and burial win be made in the Neillsville cemetery.

Charles Asplin was born Dec. 15. 1889, at Augusta, and when he was nine years old moved with his parents to a farm in the Town of Hendren, Clark County. He attended school and grew to manhood there.

In 1916 he went to Michigan and was there a short time when he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served overseas for 18 months during World War I. After the war he worked for the Goodyear Rubber Company at Akron. Ohio, and then came back to Clark County, and lived on the homestead the rest of his life.

He was married in 1921 to Miss Florence Gerhardt at Greenwood. He is survived by his wife, by his mother. Mrs. Cornelia Asplin, Town of Weston, and the following children: Gilbert Asplin, in the armed service: Mrs. Lila Sackett. Alma Center; Florence. Velda, William, Lorraine, Donald, Betty, Lois, and Addie, all at home; by the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Edith Pugh, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Claude Mills. Town of Weston; Mrs. Cleve Evans, Milwaukee; James Asplin, Owen; and Clinton Asplin, Marshfield; and by one grandchild. Two brothers preceded him in death.

The body will lie in state at the Jaster Funeral Home until burial.
