Services for Mrs. Joseph Sanford Bourque, the former Verna Veronie, 62, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with the Rev. Mike Guidry officiating. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be observed from noon until 10 p.m. today with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Thursday at 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bourque died at 11 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2004, at Iberia Medical Center.

Mrs. Bourque was an avid bowler for the past 25 years. She spent many days and nights of each week at our local bowling center. She gave up much of her personal time serving as Secretary-Treasurer of Monday Senior Citizens League; Thursday Hit or Miss League; Saturday Good Timers League; Sunday Night Mixers League and her all time favorite the very Special League on Saturday mornings. Her tireless efforts were to make sure that everyone had a good time. She was also a member of the New Iberia Women's Bowling Association.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Joseph S. Bourque; four daughters, Angel Boutte and husband L. J. of St. Martinville, Patty Sibille and husband Doug, Katina Langlinais and husband Shane all of New Iberia and Charlene Floris and husband Clay of Henry; mother, Mabel Venable Veronie of Delcambre; sister, Verlie V. Langlinais of Delcambre; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bourque was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Bourque and father, Curley Veronie.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Burke Jr., Todd Boutte, Tommy Burke, Leland Richard, Tracy and Eddie Langinais.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Sibille.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
