He died unexpectedly in Wheeler, Oregon after a short illness and was buried in Reno under the auspices of Reno Lodge 597, Order of Elks. He was also a member of the Railroad Conductors Lodge. Pyramid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable. He was survived by two daughters; Mrs. Jeanette Spatz of Reno and Mrs. Phyllis Mecham of Las Vegas, as well as two sisters; Mrs. J. A. Galvin and Mrs. Blanche Rolison, both of Palo Alto, California.
