Mrs. Ella Smith Terry, beloved centenarian of Cee Vee Community, died at 1150 pm Monday in Childress General Hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks after fracturing a hip bone in a fall.

Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of a relative from Germany, but will be held at First Methodist Church in Childress. Interment will be in Childress Cemetery beside her husband, S.S. Terry, who died in 1965.

Mrs. Terry was born April 7, 1864, at Lula, Ky., and came to Cottle County in 1915 from Bowie. She had for several years made her home in a house located a few feet from the residence of her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Parr. Until her fall and resulting hospitalization, Mrs. Terry had enjoyed caring for herself and her home duties.

Mrs. Terry's family and friends honored here with a community wife 100th birthday reception in Childress on April 5 of this year.

She was a member of First Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, James Terry; a daughter, Mrs. Parr; a sister, Maggie Smith; and three brothers, Ira, C.M. and C.G. Smith.
