Andrew settled at Mountainville, NJ on the Philhower farm in 1818. He was the founder of the first common school at Mountainville, and aided in establishing the first Sunday-school, of which he was superintendent. An Old-Line Whig in politics, he took an active part in local affairs, holding various township offices, and being highly respected as a citizen. He died in 1874.
