Clarence E. May, 91, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Timbercreek Rehab & Healthcare Center in Pekin.
Born February 17, 1923 in Manito to Charles and Susan (Simpson) May, he married Dolores V. Null Hackney on July 4, 1946 in Pekin. She died March 8, 2009 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; four brothers; and one grandson.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Jack) Hundt and Joyce Hill, both of Pekin; and two sisters, Irma Dornberger of Peoria and Vera Price of Morton.
He served in the United States Army.
Clarence had worked as a millwright at Corn Products Corp and Pekin Energy for 43 years, retiring on January 1, 1985.
He was a member of the Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1232, the National Rifle Association and was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He enjoyed his hunting trips to Canada.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military honors will be provided by the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team and the Military Funeral Honors Team.
