Audrey Hise Blair, 93, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, July 27, 2014. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet. Audrey was born July 14, 1921, in Montague County. She was the 12th child of Robert Mac Hise and Lizzie Jane Stephens. She worked during World War II as a "Rosie the Riveter," then married Waid Blair of Haskell. Audrey was a homemaker, worked as a sales representative for Montgomery Ward, then owned and operated a Mexican import store. Audrey was an excellent seamstress and a longtime member of Haltom Road Baptist Church. She loved and was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Waid Blair Sr.; and son, Waid Blair Jr. Survivors: Daughter, Lynette Blair Shimmin of Haltom City; granddaughters, Wendy Richards and husband, Gary, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Amy Gale and husband, Gary, of Haltom City; grandsons, Geoffrey and Graeme Blair of Flower Mound; great-grandchildren, Brandon Gentry, Trace and Angel Gale, Dylan Richards; great-great-granddaughter, Hailey Gentry; sister, Katherine Fields of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
