James "J.T." Sims 92 passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday July 28th, 2014.
J. T. was a Veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific theater under General MacArthur. As a young man, and to him, some of his greatest working accomplishments were when he worked in the Civil Conservation Corp in Humble and the Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado building roads and bridges during President Roosevelt's term.
J. T. made a career out of fixing things especially cars. He worked for several Chevrolet dealerships during his career in Texas and New Mexico. He routinely spoke fondly of the Weisinger Chevrolet Dealership in Conroe and the many friends he had made there over the years. Later in his life he made the move from dealership to working for the Texas A & M Physical plant where he served as shop foreman over the motor-pool for 14 years before his retirement. In retirement, he once again went back to the automobile dealership world working for Tom Light Chevrolet and several others delivering cars all over the state. He forged many long-lasting relationships in this position as well.
While he loved fixing cars and tinkering with whatever he could get his hands on, he loved fishing more than anything. During the last several years, he enjoyed spending time with his very close friend Nell Howard and her family fishing on Lake Livingston catching catfish. He truly enjoyed your love and friendship.
