Cuero - Julia Matthew Dunn, 103, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009. She was born February 8, 1905 in Stratton, Texas to the late Walter King and Martha Frances Newman Matthew.

Julia married Jessie Elgan Dunn in Cuero on April 21, 1923. She owned and operated Dunn's Mobile Home Park, worked as a Weaver at the Guadalupe Textile Mill and was a Pink Lady at Cuero Community Hospital for the Ladies Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 68 years; son, Ted Elgan Dunn; grandson; Buddy Dubose, granddaughter; Phyllis Dunn, son-in-law, Warren Dubose, Jr; sisters, Allie Cook, Irene Alexander, Zona Morrow and Pearl Baker; brothers, Jim Kirkland, Sam Kirkland, Robert Earl Matthew, Joseph J Matthew, Terry Matthew, Bonner Matthew, Ellie Matthew, and Earlie Matthew.

Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. A service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bill Walden officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Alexander Cemetery in Stratton, Texas.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of the Primitive Baptist Church.
