Raleigh Bryan Fields, 92, of Galax, Va., passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006 at his home. He was born June 23, 1913 to the late Jeremiah and Virginia Hawkins Fields. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wallene J. Fields. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Wayne Kenny of Woodlawn, Va.; and a son, Larry and Cara Fields of Forest, Va.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Barry and Genevieve Kenny of Southeast Asia, Angela and Andy Foster of Greensboro, N.C. and Bryan Fields of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 1 p.m. in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Horton and the Rev. Harvey Carrico officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Skyview Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax, Va.
