George R. Alexander, 83, Creek Road, Cumberland, died Monday morning at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore after a brief illness.
He was born in Middletown, Md., son of the late Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Tracy Alexander. He was a retired B&O Railroad employee in Cumberland.
Mr. Alexander leaves his wife, Anna Alexander, Cumberland; daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Springer, Mrs. Ruby Feigley, Mrs. Vivian Lindsey, all of Hagerstown; sons, Edward M., Hagerstown; Donald C., San Antonio, Tex.; Rev. Eugene R. Alexander, Hampstead, Md.; 27 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cumberland. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown. The body may be viewed at the Scarpelli Funeral Home in Cumberland today.
