MOULTRIE -- Oscar Lee "Shot" Giles, 84, of Moultrie, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Claude Richardson and Donnie Sloan officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darren Giles, Chad Littleton, Kelvin McMullen, Greg Giles, Keith McMullen and Brian Giles.
Born Sept. 3, 1916, in Colquitt County, Mr. Giles was the son of the late Ella Tucker Giles and Avie Giles. He was retired from Swift and Co. and was a member of Midway Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae Sloan Giles of Moultrie; sons, Lamar Giles and wife Bonnie and Jerry Giles and wife Linda, all of Moultrie; daughters, Shirley McMullen and husband Homer of Pavo and Mary Evelyn Hiers and husband Harold of Moultrie; a brother, Wynder Giles of Lizella; sisters, Edna Meadows of Moultrie and Ruby Hiers of Morven; 13 grandchildren, Kelvin, Keith, Kelly and Ken McMullen, Darren Giles, Chad Littleton, Greg, Jennifer and Brian Giles, David Causey, Cindy Brooks, Dustin Hiers and Devonie McCabe; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral chapel.
