Mrs. Deseret Burbank Hauck, 83, a Montpelier resident for 53 years, died February 27 at the home of her son, Peter A. Hauck in Manteca, California, where she had been visiting since December.
Mrs. Hauck was the daughter of Daniel and Sarah Southworth Burbank and was born July 23, 1859 in Grantsville, Utah. Her parents came to Utah in 1852, and in 1889 Mrs. Hauck moved to Montpelier, where she had since resided. Until the time of her death she was active in church work and the War Mothers organization, having had three sons in World War I. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Hauck, July 23, 1923.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jay Wixom of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Fred W. Lance of Nampa and Mrs. C. M. Philpott of Pocatello; three sons, Charles H. Hauck of Montpelier, and Peter A Hauck and Carlos P. Hauck, both of Manteca; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Williams of Brigham City and Mrs. Eliza Madsen of Honeyville, Utah; three brothers, Brigham Burbank of Brigham City, James Burbank of Tremonton, Utah, and Chester Burbank of Richmond, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday in the Montpelier First ward chapel.
The F. M. Williams Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
