Captain of the 5th Conn. Regt. of the Continental Army, born June 25, 1750, old style, died March 1, 1816. He served through the entire war of the Rev., was in the Battles of Bunker Hill, Harlem Heights, White Plains, Trenton, Princeton, German Town and Brandywine. He wintered with the main army at Valley Forge, and was present at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown on the 19th of Oct 1781, A gallant soldier and exemplary citizen, he died universally esteemed, respected and beloved.
