UTAH BUILDER DIES AT 75

Midvale - John Dunn, 75, 328 6th Ave., died Friday at 11:45 p.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of causes incident to age.

Mr. Dunn was owner and operator of Midvale Building Co. and a prominent figure in the community. He was active in civic affairs and a member of the old Commercial club. He also served on the Jordan District Board of Education from 1909 to 1916 and supervised construction of Jordan High School.
He was a member of Midvale First LDS ward and conducted the Midvale ward choir. He was born in Lichfield, Stafs. England, a son of Silas and Isabella White Dunn, and came to America at the age of 13. Since that time he had made three trips back to England.
In 1895 he married Emma Eliza Bennett in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Dunn died last Sunday, her funeral being held Thursday.
Survivors include three sons, Arthur, Kenneth, and Earl Dunn, all of Midvale; three sisters, Nellie, Polly and Dorothy Dunn, all of England; five brothers, Harry, Fred and Albert Dunn, all of England; Richard Dunn, Canada; Charles Dunn, San Gabriel, Cal.; 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Midvale First LDS ward chapel with Reed H. Beckstead, bishop, officiating.
Friends may call at 16 W. Center St., Midvale, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the home of Kenneth Dunn, 55 No. Grant St., from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Midvale City Cemetery.
