John C Barron was a planter, farmer and preacher. John married two times. His first marriage in S.C to his cousin, Mary Barron, daughter of Samuel and Nancy Titsworth Barron. John and Mary had four children-Arial; John; James; Thomas. 12 days after Mary died in Louisiana,John married the widow, Mrs.Emma Grace Reese Howell. John and Emma had six children. When John died in 1909\1910, he was residing with his daughter, Mary Louella Barron Kellett in Madisonville, TX.
Houston Post newspaper obit stated "Rev.John Barron d.last night [10 Jan 1910] at 9pm in Madisonville in the home of his daughter, Mrs. T.M.Kellett" published 16 Jan 1910.
