JOHN ESTIL PARSLEY


John Estil Parsley, 87, of Willis, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Johnny was born on February 28, 1927 in Willis to Bertha & Tom Parsley and spent his entire life in this community. He graduated from Willis High School in 1944 and faithfully served in the U.S. Navy in Japan during WWII. He was married to Marcell Daughtrey in 1950 and they had two daughters. Johnny was well-known by all his friends and neighbors for his quick wit and his willingness to always lend a hand. "Papa P" will especially be missed for his love of the outdoors and his quiet sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Robert L. Parsley and Joyce Yocum. He leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Marcell Parsley; daughters, Peggy Inglet and husband Dennis (Willis) & Beverly Cruz and husband Joey (Willis); his brother Tommy Joe and wife Delilah (Willis); his four grandchildren, Robin Paschal and husband Jeff (Plano), Emily Inglet (The Woodlands), Dana Cruz (Conroe) and Tyler Cruz (Willis); and his two great-grandchildren, Preston Paschal & Katie Cruz. The family will receive guests at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 10129 FM 1097 W., Willis, Texas 77318 on Monday, July 21, 2014 between 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 11:00am. Burial services will follow at Cude Cemetery in Willis.
