Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with military rites will be held at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Born July 15, 1934 in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of the late James Skaggs and Bernice Kroeneke Skaggs. Billy lived in the Waverly area most of his life and worked as a tree trimmer for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Skaggs and companion Sharie Seek of Lexington, and James (Jimmy) Skaggs and wife Wendy of Lexington; two grandsons, Cody and Ramsey Skaggs; two sisters, Pearl Wilson of Waverly, and Margaret Martin of Concordia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
