Ethel V. Edwards Thomas, 98, of Middlebourne, WV, formerly of New Martinsville, WV, died Monday, December 07, 2015 in Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville. She was born August 5, 1917 in Bee Bee, WV, a daughter of the late Jasper Newton and Inez Mary Rebecca West Blake. She was a glass inspector at Viking Glass in New Martinsville and a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, New Martinsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert W. Edwards; her second husband, Herman Thomas; one brother, John Blake and 7 sisters, May Gorby, Stella Parsons, Clarice Huggins, Edna McIntire, Grace Estep, Josephine Blake and Mary Blake.
Survivors include two sons, Robert N. (Debbie) Edwards of Proctor, WV and John W. (Donita) Edwards of Coatesville, In; one daughter, Lelah (David) Arrick of Proctor; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, her beloved dog, Susie and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV, where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am with Evan. Edward Melott officiating.
Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
