Jason Todd Byrd, 31, of Gatesville, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Friday, July 18, at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 17, at the funeral home.
Jason was born in De Leon, Texas, to Lee Barton and Tammi Byrd Barton. He loved riding his motorcycle, playing horse shoes, hunting for arrowheads, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Jason loved being happy and enjoying life, which he did to the fullest. He loved playing jokes on people; he was a man of few words but words of wisdom.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rick "Papa" Watts; and uncle, Ricky Byrd.
Survivors include his wife, Lonna Gossett Byrd; his children, Braiden, Brayleigh, and Brookelynn "Jumbo"; his father, Lee Barton; mother, Tammi Barton and Ronnie Warren; many other relatives and friends.
