Betty L. Douglass passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the age of 70 years. She was born on January 20, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to the late Claudis Lee Hood and Hazel Leona Barry-Hood.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Hurst Douglass; daughter Dana Kay Goad; grandchildren Jesse Alan Goad, Cory Don Goad, and Karlisa Nicole Goad; Great-Grandchildren Jesse Goad, Angel Goad, Karly Dominguez, Daisy Dominquez, Tanja Elise Goad, and Yael Crue Villegas. Siblings Mark Hood; Donna Hood-Allsup and husband David Allsup; Diana Hood-Brittain and husband Otto Brittain; Aunts Linda Barry-Head and husband Tom Head and Billy Jo Barry-Prince and husband Tom Prince.
Preceded in death by her parents Claudis and Hazel. One brother Ronald Hood.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Fleetwood Church of Christ, 15935 Katy, Freeway, Houston, Texas 77094, with Elder Bob Lanham officiating. Interment will be held at Pattison Cemetery, Pattison, Texas.
