Ruby E. Shanks, 87, of Marble Hill, died November 27, 1993 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 12, 1906 at Brownwood MO, the daughter of William Leadbetter and Mary Alice (Teeters) Leadbetter.
She lived in Bollinger County her whole life.
She married Marvin Shanks on Jan. 21, 1921. He died February 11, 1977.
She was a member of the Locust Grove Church of Marble Hill.
Survivors are four sons, Roscoe Shanks of Marble Hill, MO; Weldon Shanks of Marble Hill, MO; Frank Shanks of Marble Hill, MO; L.J. Shamks of North Augusta, SC; four daughters, Almeta Baker of Marble Hill, MO; Berona Wilder of Marble Hill, MO; Lula B. Mazzarella of Wood River, IL; and Marabeth Grant of Wood River, IL; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, three sisters, one grandson; and one great-grandson preceded her in death.
Service will be at Locust Grove Church. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery with Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
