He was born in Brooklyn, New York a son of the late Damiao G. and Helen (Guy) Luz.
Mr. Luz was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Major and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. While serving in the Korean War he was an excellent marksman. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing.
He leaves one sister, Marie E. DaCruz and her husband Joseph of Warwick and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rosilyn Williams and Marjorie H. Lopez.
His funeral service was held on Thursday in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, East Providence. Burial was in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
