Melva was born January 14, 1916, in Hinckley, Utah, to Charles Theobald and Lydia Talbot Theobald. She grew up and attended schools in Hinckley, where she graduated from high school.
On October 12, 1934, she married Everett Ervin Harriell in Blackfoot, Idaho. She met Everett at the Reed Ranch, where she was helping Mrs. Reed in her daily duties. Together they raised one son, LaDon. Melva and Everett eventually began buying several farms in the New Sweden area.
Melva was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Their lives centered around working on the farm together. Everett passed away November 9, 2009.
Melva was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed handwork and needlework and created many beautiful works of art. Melva kept an immaculate home and loved her yard and garden.
Melva is survived by her son, Everett LaDon Harriell of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Norma Stevenson, of Bountiful, UT; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters: Crystal, Zelma and Cozette; three brothers: Alton, Grant and Wynn: and a great-grandson, Preston Worton.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Fielding Memorial Park.
