Ronnie Lee Tucker, 59, of Valdosta died on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City, Florida. He was born on October 6, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to John R. Tucker and Mildred Tucker. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the United States Post Office where he served as a postal clerk. He was a soft-spoken, gentle person who tried to help not only his family, but all that he came in contact with. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Tucker of Valdosta; a son, Aaron Tucker of New Mexico; his mother, Mildred Tucker of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Donnie Murray of Valdosta; a sister, Tina Tucker of Warren, Michigan; nieces, Jennie Anderson of Roscommon, Michigan and Brooke Singletary of Valdosta; nephews, Joe Charron and his wife Deena, and Brad Singletary all of Valdosta; a special brother-in-law, Joe Muncy of Valdosta; great nieces, Courtney Simpson and Skylar Griner both of Valdosta; a great nephew, Daniel Hickok of Hazel Park, Michigan; his beloved cat, Dana; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicki and Tim Austin of Troy, Michigan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Claudia Ouwerkerk of Spokane, Washington; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Ouwerkerk of Jackson, Michigan; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Tucker; grandparents, Forrest and Ona Tucker, and Effie Donley; parents-in-law, Arnold and Maxine Ouwerkerk.
A private family graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery with Pastor Jean Jack officiating.
