Leslie M. Fry

Leslie Mack Fry, former Nevada Assemblyman for the 1969 and 1971 legislative sessions, died Saturday in a Reno hospital.
A longtime Reno resident, Fry was born Nov. 14, 1937, in Ogden, Utah. He attended Reno schools, graduating from Reno High School in 1955. In high school, Fry was on the Nevada state championship basketball team.
In 1959, he graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno. He was a member of ATO fraternity - Blue Key and Phi Kappa Phi.
He was commissioned second lieutenant Infantry in the Army serving two years before promoted to captain.
Fry graduated from Boalt Hall, University of California law school in 1963, and began practicing law in 1964 in Reno in partnership with his father.
As assemblyman, Fry was chosen as outstanding freshman legislator and was active in Republican politics and with Young Republicans. He was chosen as Outstanding Young Man of America in 1973. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shrine.
Fry was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Stanley Fry of Reno.
Surviving besides his parents, Leslie and Jean Fry, of Reno; sons, Clay and Stuart, both of Lafayette, Calif.; brother, Robert of Reno; sisters, Myralyne Mallot [sic] of Livermoor, Calif., and Sally Woyciehowsky of Merced, Calif.
