Louisa "Faye" Callahan Fryer passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, in Grants Pass, at the age of 83. She and her husband, William D. Fryer, became residents of Corvallis in 1954.
Faye Fryer was born on Aug. 18, 1930, in Loa, Utah, with her twin brother, Lewis Ray Callahan, to Jessie Myrtle Johnson and Joseph Irvin Callahan. They were the 12th and 13th children of a family of 14. When Faye was 8 years old, her family moved to Nyssa.
Faye married William D. Fryer on Oct. 13, 1953, in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Four children joined the family, Jessie "Marie" (Brent Boyter), William (Mary Hirko), John (June Southern) and Richard.
She ran a business of care homes for the elderly until she retired.
Faye is survived by her four children, 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and younger sister, Loya. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (October 2013); and her grandson, Austin.
The viewing will take place at 9 a.m. Monday, July 14, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4141 N.W. Harrison Blvd. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Please share your thoughts and memories for the family at www.demossdurdan.com.
