Funeral services for Stella Ruth Yates, who died in a Temple hospital on Wednesday, were held on Friday, July 3 at 2 p.m. at Finch Chapel. Michael Cowey officiated, with interment in the Bundick cemetery.
Mrs. Yates was born on Dec. 23, 1917 in Dan Antonio, to Ray Luke and Lena Agnes Meneley Law. She was married to James Owen Yates on Feb. 16, 1935, in San Antonio, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1972.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and lived in Smiley.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by a son, Elzner, on March 22, 1976.
