Although she was married at least twice, Mary was buried under her maiden name of Smith. Her first husband, Charles Marion "Charley" Cooper, died in 1967 in California. They were married July 1, 1929 in Wichita. Her second husband was an unnamed "Sanders" based on her obituary below:

MRS. MARY F. SANDERS 

Services for Mrs. Mary F. Sanders, 56, of 1831 N. Topeka, who died Tuesday after a long illness, will be at 10a.m. Friday at Culbertson Mortuary. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.

Born in Mulvane, Mrs. Sanders came here in 1914.

Survivors include six sons, Clyde E. Cooper, Fred W. Cooper [1937-2009], Donald D. Gooch [1936-1999] and Harold L. Cooper [1941-2005], all of Wichita, Darrel L. Cooper [1943-2010], Twenty-nine Palms, Calif., and Charlie R. Cooper [1941-2005], Riverside, Calif.; her father, John Samuel Smith, Wichita; five brothers, Harry W. Smith, Edward L. Smith and Johnnie J. Smith, all of Wichita, Lloyd L. Smith, Newkirk, Okla., and Harold R. Smith, Long Beach, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. John Gooch and Mrs. Mildred Grover, both of Wichita.
