JOHNNY STURDIVANT
Johnny Sturdivant, 84 of Bowling Green died at 9:00 a.m., Monday, October
4, 2010 at his residence.
The Edmonson County native was a retired employee of Detrex where he was
a designer. He was a member of Bell Key Methodist church where he was
saved and baptized at age of twelve. He was a World War II Navy veteran
and served on an LST in the Pacific Theater where his group saw action at
Okinawa, Saipan and the Philippines. Johnny loved his hobbies of wood-
carving, harmonica playing and gardening. Those who knew him admired his
talent as well as his passion for his interests. He was also a member of the
American Legion. He attended the one room Capital Hill School in
Edmonson County.
He was the son of the late John Sturdivant and Lula Renfro Sturdivant and
was preceded in death by two sister, Niccola Cowles and Mary Underhill and
a brother Arthur Sturdivant. He was the husband of the late Alma Jean Marr
Sturdivant.
Graveside service with Military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at
Fairview Cemetery #2 with visitation from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at the gravesite
under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel

Arthur Sturdivant, 74, of Bowling Green died at 9 p.m. April 13, 2001, at his home.The Edmonson County native was a retired painting contractor, a World War II Air Force veteran and a member and trustee at St. James United Methodist Church. He was a son of the late John Sturdivant and Lula Renfro Sturdivant.Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
