Walter Leonard DeLoach

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Southside Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home for Walter Leonard DeLoach, 85, of 2738 Lillian St., who died at 7 a.m. Wednesday in Veteran's Administration Medical Center following a short illness.

Officiating at services will be the Rev. Jeff Campbell, pastor of Willow Point Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery.

A native of Claiborne Parish, he had resided in Shreveport most of his life. He was a retired self-employed accountant. He was a member of the Willow Point Baptist Church (formerly Queensborough Baptist Church), the El Karubah Shrine Temple, Knights Templar and the Queensborough Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.

He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy D. Whitten of Shreveport, and Catherine Arrington of Beaumont, Texas; five sisters, Estelle DeLoach, Tressie DeLoach, Gladys Harrison, Alma Hippler and Mabel Flory, all of Shreveport; one brother, T. Allen DeLoach of Waco, Texas; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Arrington, Thomas R. Arrington, Mark W. Arrington, Glen DeLoach, Michael Sledge and Richard McDonald.
