BALLARD, ELMO K. ""JACK,'' 81, of Dunedin, died Friday (Aug. 8, 1997) at home.
He was born in Denver, and came here in 1988 from Lake Wales. He was a retired Air Force colonel and a veteran of World War II. After retiring, he worked for the Gideons. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1937 and was a Rhodes Scholar. He was a boxer and a nine-time featherweight division winner of the Gold Gloves competition. He was a member of World Radio Fellowship.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Jean; and a sister, Virginia B. Johnston, Dunedin.
