Moved from Maryland to settle in Dearborn Co. IN before 1811.

He's almost certain to be buried somewhere in Hogan Twp. Dearborn Co., IN., and there are references to a Dele and a Lemuel Elder Cem., both apparently in Hogan Twp.. but it's unclear if these are separate or identical.

Don Howard (has interest in Dele Elder family and has done some research) sent the following email to me, 12/14/2014: "It occurred to me that you probably don’t know about the discovery of Dele Elder’s grave in Dearborn County, IN a few years ago. It was found along with a couple of others when a health clinic was preparing an expansion. It would appear that it’s on the land originally purchased by Dele when he first moved to Dearborn County. Attached are two Elder photographs, including Dele’s own. Art Wentzel, who first surveyed the site, thinks that this Elizabeth Elder was Charles D. Elder’s wife. But I suspect that she’s actually a heretofore unknown daughter of Dele and Sarah’s."
Don sent a picture of the two Elder gravestones. Dele's stone reads: "In memory of DELE ELDER, Esq. who died April 23d 1829, in the 56th year of his age". He was born about 1772-1773.
