Ethel Gertrude Buchanan Lambert, 78, of Winterhaven Drive, Sylva, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at her residence after a period of declining health.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Melton-Riddle Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Eugene Ridley officiated. Burial was in Old Savannah Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she retired from Skyland Care Center in the housekeeping department. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Judson and Florence Dills Buchanan.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Jody Russell Lambert, one brother, Coy Buchanan, and two sisters, Virginia Buchanan and Edith Carnes.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty L. Cabe of Cullowhee, three sons, Virgil Russell Lambert and Billy Lambert, both of Whittier, and Charles Lambert of Asheville, one sister, Birdell Cope of Virginia, two grandchildren, one great-grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.
