John was born in St. Catharines in Lincoln County in the year 1840. His parents were Andreas Klein (1811-????) and Catherine Schell (1813-1882).


He married Caroline Zinger on April 14th, 1863 in the village of New Germany (Maryhill) in Woolwich Twp;

They raised a total of 9 children in Ontario Province.

2. Andreas Klein 1866-1888.

3. Mary Klein (Hall) 1867-1899.

4. Sarah Klein (Huether) 1875-1914.

6. Caroline M. Klein (Godglinck) 1879-1958.

7. Johannah H. Klein (Sobisch) 1881-

8. Ida Magdalena Klein (Bauer) 1886-1979.

John was killed suddenly by being crushed between to cars in Berlin, Waterloo County. He was 59 years and 6 days old. Death Register #025873.

KLEIN (Berlin, Ont.) July 14 - A horrible fatality occurred in the G.T.R. yards here this morning, about 9 o'clock. John Klein, who had been engaged in smoking lumber for H.J. Hall, was in the act of crossing the track to get a drink when he was caught between cars, which were being shunted and crushed to death

John was born in St. Catharines in Lincoln County in the year 1840. His parents were Andreas Klein (1811-????) and Catherine Schell (1813-1882).
