She died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at her home.
She was born July 30, 1908, in Abernathy. She attended Science Hill School and graduated from Plainview High School. She attended Texas Woman's University in Denton. She was employed by General Electric Company in Fort Worth prior to moving to Washington, D.C.
She was a purchasing agent for the Bureau of Reclamation Department of Interior for 30 years before retiring in 1970. After retirement, she returned to Texas, living first in Lubbock, then Dallas. She married Russell Dean Baker in 1975. He died in 1988.
Survivors include a niece and two nephews.
