Alfred Tikalsky, age 72, of 506 Monroe St. Reedsville died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001 at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Reedsville. The Rev. Tom Long will officiate, burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
He was born on July 22, 1929 in Brillion, son of Lucille (Cummings) Tikalsky and the late Edward Tikalsky. He was a 1947 graduate of Brillion High School and served in the U.S. Army ORC from 1951 to 1959. On Oct. 3, 1959 he married Ardys Bretl. Alfred worked for United Parcel Post retiring on Jan. 1, 1980. He was a deputy sheriff for Manitowoc County for many years and served as secretary for the west Maple Grove Hunting Club. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Reedsville, the Gosz-Novak American Legion Post 3199, Reedsville and the Reedsville AMVETS #1032.
Survivors include his mother, Lucille Tikalsky of Manitowoc; a daughter, Kay (Dave) McElroy of Bristol, Tenn.; two sons, Ron (Connie) Tikalsky of Reedsville, and Paul Tikalsky of Chilton; three grandchildren, Joseph, Carrissa, and Cassie Rose Tikalsky, and a sister Elaine (Alvin) Stueber of Whitelaw. He was preceded in death by his father Edward and his wife Ardys.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville on Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
