He was born August 12, 1954 in Manitowoc to Norbert and Irene (neeVondrachek)
Shimon. Gary graduated from Holy Rosary Grade School and New Holstein High
School in 1972. He entered General Motors Institute in Flint, MI and graduated
as an engineer. He was currently an engineer with Strattec in Milwaukee. He
previously was employed by General Motors and General Electric. He was actively
involved with the music ministry at Eastbrook Church. He was a very generous
and giving friend to many.
Gary is survived by his father Norbert Shimon of New Holstein; two brothers,
Tom (Lynn) Shimon of Sheboygan and William (Sue) Shimon of Appleton; his nieces
and nephews Heather (Brian) Turany, Keith (Jennifer), Laurie (Tim) Quernemoen
and Jonathan Shimon; his uncle Stephen (Harriet) Shimon of Hartford; and his
aunts June Shimon of Reedsville, Lelah Vondrachek of Burlington, and Betty
Vondrachek of Two Rivers. He is further survived by cousins and many many friends
who loved him as a brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene and
uncles, Edward Shimon, Wally Vondrachek and Charles Vondrachek.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006 at 12 noon at Eastbrook
Church, 5353 N. Green Bay Ave., Milwaukee. Visitation at the church will be on
Saturday from 9 û 11:30 a.m. with a fellowship luncheon to follow the service.
Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Reedsville on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006.
