Barbara Shimon, 90, of Brookfield, and formerly of Reedsville, died Saturday,
February 6.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church,
Reedsville, Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Shimon, nee Barbara Burich, was born Oct. 28, 1891, in the Town of Rockland.
She lived at Reedsville most of her life, where her late husband, Edward J.
Shimon, was funeral director at Reedsville Funeral Home. He preceded her in death
in 1975. When her son, Edward J. Shimon, died in 1976, she moved to Brookfield
to reside with her son, Steven.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven E. and Harriet Shimon
of Brookfield and Norbert E. Shimon of New Holstein; a daughter-in-law, June
Shimon of Reedsvile, 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Two brothers
and three sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at St. Mary Church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of
service. Gosz-Novak American Legion Auxiliary Post 199 of Reedsville will have
a prayer service at 12:45 p.m. and Christian Mothers and St. Ann Altar Society
will recite the Rosary at 1 p.m.

Marriage of Edward/Barbara Shimon
Reedsville Items:
At the St. Mary's Church at 10 am Tuesday morning, Edward Shimon and Barbara Burich, both of this city were united in matrimony, Rev. Kolar officiating. The bride wore a dress of white brocaded messaline with the usual bridal veil and wreath and carried a bouquet of pink roses. They were attended by the Misses Rose Hlavachek, Mary Shimon, Rose Hlavacheck and Mary Jerabek. The groom was attended by Frank Jerabek, Jos. Burich, Joe Burich and Chas. Burich. After the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the groom where the wedding dinner was served. The young couple are well known in this vicinity and have the Goodspeed of many friends on their voyage through life.
