Suggested edit: Falconer, Alexander - Private, enrolled at Garnavillo with Captain John Parker's Company of Iowa Dragoons Volunteers at age 38. Re-enlisted July 15, 1847 in Captain J.M. Morgan's Company of Mounted Volunteers. Mustered out with Company Sept 11, 1848. He is also shown on the 1885 Ex-soldiers & sailors list as a Sergeant in Co. E, 1st Regiment, Infantry. Mexican war. Residence Elkader. From his 1882 biography: "He enlisted in the First Regiment of the United States Infantry, Company E, under Captian A. S. Miller, and served faithfully for eleven years, participating in the Florida and Mexican wars. He was wounded at the battle of Oridobee, while fighting the Indians on the frontier. He was honorably discharged at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., on Feb. 9, 1846". He died in 1892. Burial place unknown. Obituary
