Joseph Gettman
Joseph “Joe” Gettman, 88, 2101 S. Garfield, Loveland, died Jan. 30 in a local nursing home.
He was born March 28, 1902, in Lyons, to Jacob and Anna Marie Stroh Gettman. He married Katherine Reiter on Nov. 6, 1924, in Loveland. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1985.
He farmed north of Berthoud for 44 years. He retired in 1972 and moved to Loveland. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Loveland.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, Rose Deines and husband Harry, Laurel, Mont., Marie Batt and husband Jake, Bayard, Neb., and Betty Trupp and husband Dan, Sunnyside, Wash.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Rose Batt, Amelia Gettman and Leah Adams, a brother, Conrad J. Gettman and a brother-in-law, Alexander D. Reiter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church. The Rev. Arthur Orth and the Rev. A. Brenning will officiate.
Burial will be in Loveland Burial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund.
Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
